This easy to grow bulb is suitable for areas with hot dry summers. Plant in the summer and then leave alone. The leaves appear in the autumn, followed veery shortly by the yellow flowers. The flowers look like crocus, and hence the common name. Warning: The bulb is known to be poisonous.
