Etymology
Drosera From Greek droseros meaning dewy, referring to the droplets of "dew" on the traps.

This native carnivorous plant catches insects by using droplets of sticky fluid at the end of long tentacles. These tentacles grow from modified leaves. When an insect is caught, the tentacles bend inward, trapping and digesting the insect.
