This species of epiphytic (lives on trees) cactus produces beautiful pink flowers in late Spring, reminiscent of Epiphyllum.

This cactus has been classified under different genus, and here are its synonyms; Cactus phyllanthoides, Nopalxochia phyllanthoides, Phyllocactus phyllanthoides and Cereus phyllanthoides.
