The delicate fern-like foliage contrasts well with evenly spaced graceful 4 inch flowers. A quick growing annual, cosmos will flower all throughout Summer and into the Autumn until the first frost. Dead head to increase flower production. Alternatively, cut the flowers and put them in a vase. Leave a few seeds to fall on to the ground to self seed.

Plant cosmos in full Sun, as it is heat tolerant. This tall plant should be planted next to a stake, and as it grows, tie it to the state. Alternatively, grow a group of plants in a block. The plants in the block will support each other.
