Coreopsis grandiflora is native perennial wildflower of North America.
In Spring/Summer, it produces masses of butter yellow 2 inch flowers and will bloom all Summer long if dead headed.
If planted in warmer regions, it will continue to grow a few flowers even in Winter!
The bright yellow flowers certainly cheers up dull spots in the garden.
In the first year, it seemingly grows very little.
This is an important time for the plant as it grows roots to establish itself.
In the second year, it will grow very quickly and flower.
The leaves only grow to 30cm and the flowers are borne on 60cm stems.
Use it as a ground cover for dry areas such as banks or plant it next to paths.
