Bulbophyllum is the second largest genus of orchids, after Epidendrum, with over 2000 species. The plants and flowers vary quite a bit and can range in size from miniatures only several milimetres across to quite large plants with flowers several cm across and up to 20 cm long. Most have unusual shaped flowers. In this species, the flowers look like the propellor of an airplane.
