Etymology
Arctotis From Greek arktos meaning bear, and Greek otis meaning ear, to mean bear's ear, referring to the shape of pappus scale of its flowers and fruit.

This versatile ground cover plant South Africa is great for dry exposed banks. The sprawling growth soon covers a large area, supressing weeds.

The flowers start in late Winter carries on right through the Summer. If regularly dead headed, it is possible to flower it through to Autumn.
